Nigerian among two arrested with 400g heroin in India

The Bathinda police have arrested a Nigerian national and one other from Delhi for smuggling drugs and recovered 400 grams heroin from them.
The Nigerian man, Jerry alias Peter was arrested on Wednesday, August 22, from Mohan Garden locality of Uttam Nagar following the information provided by one Tarun Kumar. 
Tarun was also arrested on Wednesday from Indira Park area of Uttam Nagar, Delhi. Tarun is accused of supplying drugs in Punjab after getting the supplies from Peter.

According to information, the arrests in Delhi came about after one Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi of Bathinda was arrested with 50g heroin from Katar Singh Wala village bus stand near Bathinda on August 18. 
During investigations, he told police that the contraband was supplied to him by Tarun and that Tarun got his supplies from Peter. After this, a police party was sent to Delhi, which on Wednesday arrested Tarun, and then Peter, with 400g heroin.
Bathinda SP (investigations) Swarn Singh Khanna said: 
“During initial investigations it was found that Peter belongs to Lagos city in Nigeria and is residing in Delhi since 2014. He was into readymade-clothes business but started smuggling drugs. He provided drugs to Tarun several times. Tarun faces two cases under the NDPS Act at Bathinda and Mansa and is on bail. He used to smuggle drugs to Bathinda from Delhi.”
