Emmanuel Macron, president of France, has revealed his intention to visit Nigeria, Punch reports.
The French ambassador to Nigeria, Denys Gauer, reportedly made this known on Tuesday in a meeting with Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.
Gauer said Macron, who once worked at the French Embassy in Abuja, would like to meet with senators and members of the house of representatives.
Macron has an interest in Nigeria, Gauer said, and talks about the development of the country, youth development, and cultural exchanges between the two countries will be on the agenda of the meeting.
Dogara, in return, described Macron as a “man of our generation.”
His visit would be an interesting experience for members of the National Assembly, he said, particularly how he convinced French voters to elect him despite his young age.
