And we were on a field trip today at the Ugwuaji open wastedump in Enugu. The level of environmental degradation going on there is something else; sewage dumped untreated on open land, all sorts of waste dumped indiscriminately. We took soil, water and leachate samples for lab analysis to ascertain the extent of pollution. And houses are even springing up around the area, imagine!
